2011 Cyprus Stamp Issues

1. 28th January 2011

a) "100 Years since the foundation of the athletic and cultural club ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA" comprising of one stamp.
b) "Famous Composers of 18th Century" comprising of three stamps.


2. 23rd March 2011


c) "Roses" comprising of one souvenir sheet and one stamp. This commemorative issue will be the first of a series where an aromatic ink will be used in the printing.
d) "Cyprus Embroidery" Comprising of two stamps.


3. 4th May 2011

e) "Europa 2011" - consists of two stamps and a booklet containing a strip of 4 sets of stamps (8 stamps).
The common theme adopted by the European Postal Organisation (POSTEUROP) is "Forests" and Cyprus' design was voted as the Winning Entry.
f) "Lighthouses of Cyprus"  -  consists of 2 stamps which depict the lighthouses at Paphos and Cape Greco with the lighthouse at Kiti being featured on the minisheet.
    Refugee Tax Fund stamp reprint for 2011.


4 - 8th June 2011

g) "Tall Ships" comprising of three stamps.
h)  "Christopher Pissarides", Cyprus' Nobel Prize winner. A single value stamp.

5. 5th October 2011

i) "Children's Stamp" (Aesop's Fables) theme "The Hare & The Tortoise". Adhesive stamps in booklet form. NO FIRST DAY COVERS were issued for these stamps.

6. 11th November 2011

j) "Christmas 2011" - comprises of three stamps.
   Christmas maximum cards x 3.

On the same date, the commonly known Year Packs were issued but are now in the form of a hard backed booklet (A4 size) containing all stamps issued for the year along with   information and/or history of the stamp issue.
Special Albums 2011 (containing all 2011 stamp issues and official first day covers) were also released. Photos to come soon.


7. 21st December 2011

k) The New Definitive stamp issues for 2011 is currently scheduled for release. We were advised on 25 October 2011 by the philatelic office that this issue will now not be released until early 2012.
